Pontus Wallstén


Pontus Wallstén will speak on his experiences hunting rare lilies. He is author of “The Lily Species and Their Bulbs,” which was published in 2017. He has a new book coming out, “The Lily Subspecies and Their Bulbs.” He also is the former editor of the Royal Horticultural Society Lily Group newsletter. He was born and brought up in Switzerland and became keenly interested in horticulture at an early age. He completed a degree in film studies in London studies and earned another diploma in journalism in Neuchatel, Switzerland.

Pontus Wallstén is also the owner-operator of the nursery Pontus Wallstén Plants which is based in Vaud Switzerland. The nursery specialised in rare and unusual bulbs and plants from all around the world, with a special focus on Lilium (lily) species and hybrids, as well as arisaemas and cardiocrinum. Pontus is an expert and published author on the subject of lilies, with over two decades of experience in growing and nurturing rare plants species.
