Frans Officer
Frans Officer has agreed to be the after-dinner speaker on Saturday at the Awards Banquet. He will talk about his life with lilies. He is a longtime member of NALS and the North Star Lily Society. Officer has been smitten with growing martagon lilies for quite some time. In the March 2023 Quarterly Bulletin, he wrote about "Martagon 'Mystique." In that article, he wrote that he owed a "huge debt to patient gurus like Hugh and Ruth Cocker, Bob Gilman, Gene Fox and Norgart Martschinke, who were oh-so-important in encouraging me to start hybridizing martagons." In the June 2018 Quarterly Bulletin, he shared "An Ode to My Gurus."
